About the Author
Petr Šmilauer is Associate Professor of Ecology in the Department of Ecosystem Biology at the University of South Bohemia. His main research interests are: multivariate statistical analysis, modern regression methods, as well as the role of arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis in plant communities. He is co-author of the multivariate analysis software Canoco 5, CANOCO for Windows 4.5, CanoDraw, and TWINSPAN for Windows.

Jan Lepš is Professor of Ecology in the Department of Botany at the University of South Bohemia, and in the Institute of Entomology at the Czech Academy of Sciences. His main research interests include: plant community biology, statistical analysis in the field of ecology, as well as the studies of species diversity, the role of functional traits in plant community ecology and ecology of hemiparasitic plants. Together with P. Šmilauer, he regularly offers international courses on multivariate statistics.

Fascinating Though it Seriously Needs Editing

I found many of Robert Feather’s ideas quite fascinating. He studies many aspects of the Exodus story, like the Tabernacle, Copper Serpent, etc., but the main point centers on his identification of site of Mt. Sinai, the place “where Moses stood” to receive the Ten Commandments.

He makes the case for a place called Solomon’s Pillars in Timna Valley at the southern edge of Israel’s border. I came away convinced that this is the most likely site for the event. He also identifies Merneptah as the Pharoah of the Exodus who died by drowning.

He offers several interesting theories, though many of them are obviously speculative. I ended up giving the book three stars because the manuscript went to press too soon. It really needs an editor. He is often not clear. Sometimes he even seems to contradict himself. And there are so many mistakes. The author assured me that the second edition will be much cleaner. As it is, Feather has thrown so many things into the book that just don’t belong there. It’s easy to get bogged down with so many rabbit trails that the main points can get lost.

Aside from these problems, I’m glad I got to read it at this early stage, even if it’s not quite ready for the public.

Realistic.

This was one of the greatest books I have ever read. Norma Klein's books are so honest and open. All of her books are very realistic because she understands that not everyone's life is perfect. Her books don't make you feel bad that your life is not as good as the characters. I find the people in her books, especially Jody in "It's OK if You Don't Love Me" very easy to relate to. This book is an excellent prtrayal of young love and the confusion that goes along with sex. The first time I read this I was 12. I definetly recommend this to mature preteens as well as older teens.

This book is about Jody and Lyle, a young couple dating.
The both have a love for tennis and often rally together. Their
relationship becomes complicated when they start talking
about having sex. Lyle is an eighteen year old virgin, and
Jody is a semi-experienced young woman. Their relationship
is very open and a good role model for teens

I really like Norma Klein's approach to young adult topics. Her style was really progressive for the late 80's. She does not condescend to teens as if the issue of sex is nonexistent, or pontificate in any way. She is accepting of the differences, racial, familial, and individual, that characterize young adults. I also really like the way the characters never fixate on their appearances. They are self confident while maintaining a sense of reality. That is a great message for kids, and it does not come off at all like a sermon. This book treats the issues of being a young adult with dignity.

This book has a lot of good information in it. I use this as a reference book. It's sometimes easier finding information in this book, than it is the AutoCAD wikihelp.

good book again and again

i have been buying the latest mastering AutoCad book for over 10 years. Omura has always done a great job and this time is no exception. when a new AutoCad version comes out we wait until we can get this book and a couple of others before implementation. As we already know AutoCad this is used mostly for a reference in our office. If you know AutoCad you probably are aware that the makers of the software don't offer free tech support and if you call the dealer for support often they are looking in this book to tell you the answer to your question.

Excellent Reference

The last copy of AutoCAD that I purchased several years ago had an extensive paper reference library included, but this was not the case with my copy of 2013, perhaps because it is a student version.

This book goes a long way in filling the void. For me, it is easier to follow a procedure in a book while working on-screen with the application than using on-line help except for very minor operations.
