I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author.

Let me preface this review by saying i was aware this book didn't focus on much else besides sex prior to reading it, in fact i was kind of excited to read it because of this fact.

SO, Clover by Moxie darling is the story of a woman named clover who has the bad luck of breaking down in the middle of absolute nowhere on a way to a town that is...isolated... to say the least. As luck would have it, she comes across a house on some property. Here's where it gets good, the house is inhabited by a relatively good looking man and his family. I'm not going to ruin the story by saying how this turns sexual or the situation they all get into (because you find out about it in the first few pages), but what i will tell you is that if you are looking for a great erotica novella, this is it. It's HOT! but not just hot, its evocative and the wording is perfection. It is probably one of the better just erotica books I've read, i definitely struggled with trying to keep still while reading, it had rough sex, hot sex, standing sex, fast and slow sex, it had a bit of everything. Not that i'm complaining a single bit.

This isn't a novella you read for a deep emotional connection to the characters, its one to get yourself all hot and bothered and enjoy some light, well written erotica. Fair warning, its got a little taboo aspect, but nothing in my opinion that isn't worth reading, in fact i think it enhances the steaminess of the book.

Enticing and dam hot !

However - for those who love erotica , and a bit of kink - this book is filled with dam smoking hot sex scenes, sexy mountain men and an array of all things hot, raunchy and dam right delightful. Even a tad bit of romance who like there sexy stories with that edge of sweetness.

A quick read at just under 50 pages, but enough to get your loins tingling and the pages briskly turning. The story was well written and kept me engaged through the entire story. I enjoyed the authors writing style and the way she wasn't afraid to hold back on the goodies. :D

A little indepth with descriptions in the intial start but otherwise , my only complaint I wanted more haha.

Clover is a open minded woman, with a penance for good sex, spur of the moment scenerios and hot dominant sexual men.

I enjoyed all the characters in this short novella. The older dad, and sexy son made quiet the enjoyable menage :D The combination of innocence and maturity made this read - enticing and dam right hot !

A quickeee read for all those wanting a quick fix .. but I warn you it will leave you wanting more .

This is one memorable series opener!

Clover has taken a sabbatical so that she can travel and bring her love of literacy to children. On her way to her destination, she gets lost and her car eventually breaks down when she runs out of gas. Clover is herself lost, on foot, and carrying books while searching for someone to help get her car back on the road. Instead of finding a store, she runs into two burly mountain men who are happy to assist her in exchange for a week of sex.

This was a short read that introduces everyone to the characters in the series. If you are looking for some burly lumberjack-like mountain men in your romance collection, this is a novella that will interest you. As an erotica novella, the story is pretty straight forward: sex, sex, and more sex. However, it’s well written and Clover’s free spirit hippy life and Jim and Eustace’s hardworking mountain men life out in the boonies are floating in the story. If you’re looking for a story that includes a woman in control and more than one character having a sexual awakening of sorts, this is a series opener for you.

Great Book for the Practicing Design Engineer

This book is the classic in practical heat transfer design. The first few chapters cover theory, while the remainder of the book is devoted to specific design problems...accompanied by fully detailed examples. Some readers may argue that it is too detailed (in today's age of computer simulators), however, stepping through details helps the designer gain an intuitive understanding of heat transfer design considerations. From single component to multiple component heat transfer with phase change (including accounting for the presence of non-condensibles), it's covered, though dated in its approach (the book was first published in 1950). In summary, if you are looking for a book that bridges the gap between theory and actual operation, look no further!

Dated but Critical Text

Although this book was written in 1950, the text is still critical. I used the section on direct-contact heat exchangers to design a contact condenser back in 2002. The text is still relevant, the examples current and useful, and some calculation methods still not covered properly in more advanced text. I should point out that although some of the equations are old, they are simplier to use than newer text and require fewer inputs. Besides, when are you going to need calculations accurate to beyond 90%?

A Must for Practicing Engineers Involved in Heat Transfer

When Kern wrote this book, I am sure that he never imagined it would become a classic! Although some of the coefficient equations have improved slightly over the years, the methods developed in this book are as useful then as now. He literally covers all aspects of heat transfer, cooling towers and direct contact condensers, shell and tube, mixed gas condensation, boilers, direct-fired heaters, coils, etc.. You must have this book.

So I first read this back in my twenties when it first came out and I love it. Now that I'm in my thirties, and decided to revisit the book, its kinda terrible. I mean, it's okay, but it's predictable and shallow. Vivian seems to be the only character with substance. Everyone else is name dropping who they are wearing or what they are driving. Anywho, I will continue to read it, but it's taking me a whole month to do it.

Sistah's on a mission....

Three single sistah's (wallowing in their pity at being single)make a pact at their girlfriend's wedding...to be married by the following year. Hence THE VOW. What ensues is a story that covers some of today's hot topics...DL brotha's, successful sistah's, single/working mom's, unattainable men, materialism, etc.

In their quest to remain true to THE VOW, the ladies (Trista, Amaya and Vivian) find that they're looking for love in all the wrong places and in order to be loved you must first love yourself.

All in all a decent read...once you make it to the end of the book. I had SERIOUS problems with the character development and the constant dragggiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg of the story and storyline inconsistency. Some of the scenes were predictable...other times I found myself distressed with the characters and their actions.

I love a good read - and thought this would be a good one - but I could only give it 3 stars and that was only because the characters "redemeeded" themselves in the end.

Meet the ambitious and determined women of The Vow; three (3), 30-something single friends. The friendship includes: the always working talent agent--Trista; the wannabee actress--Amaya; and the needs to get over her baby daddy entertainment journalist--Vivian. Reuniting at a friend's New Year's Eve wedding, these three ladies make a pledge to develop a committed relationship with Mr. Right by the end of the new year. But Rome was not built in a day, and the yellow brick road is not without a few roadblocks, detours, turns and stops and the likelihood of finding Mr. Right in Hollywood is like finding a needle in a haystack.

From hilarious and funny to provocative and poignant, these women will make you laugh, cry, shout, scream, fuss, and provide support and encouragement as they multi-task in handling their personal and professional lives. As shallow as their pledges sound, there were actually some unexpected serious moments that caught this reader off guard but also helped me to more closely connect with the characters. The situations were very believable and realistic and done in a true-to-life fashion; no over the top drama. More importantly, it was moving to watch the characters grow and realize that just maybe before they found a partner they would first need to find themselves. It is always difficult navigating the path to real love and the situations these characters faced were no different from many of the ones that readers have actually faced in real life.

The Vow is an entertaining and compelling read that was superbly executed by three different writers with three different voices and style. There is always a concern that when a book is written by more than one author that the story might not be very cohesive or that one voice might be stronger or weaker than the rest. However, one of the positives of The Vow was that the three different voices worked very well together. The separate voices helped to give each character their own uniqueness and distinctiveness and the pacing was smoothly executed. The Vow is a very entertaining and page-turning read and I look forward to other books from these authors-collectively and individually.

5 things I loved about this book

5 things I loved about this book:

1) It helped me see the whole process clearly. It’s the step-by-step I need to create copy.

2) Once I have a sales page or a sales email created, I can go back and check if I actually followed the recipe. It’s a clear standard to give my work a grade and then fix it.

3) I just love the writing style of this book. Since it is a book on writing, you would expect the writing to be great—and it is. I found myself pausing to re-read just from the point of view of how well everything was stated. I need to write like that. So it helps to read this kind of writing and absorb it. It is punchy and super easy to follow.

4) The book has only the key concepts and the steps of application—no fluff. I took extensive notes, and I quickly realized I was taking something from every page.

5) I felt like the book was written right to me. I’ve already read a lot about digital marketing. This book assumed I was up to speed on the basics and showed me what I needed to know.

Everything It Should Be, and Nothing More

I'm really impressed by Ray Edward's How to Write Copy that Sells: The Step-by-Step System for More Sales, to More Customers, More Often.

How to Write Copy that Sells offers a wealth of practical, easy-to-locate and apply, advice in a "right-sized package" that comfortable fits in your hand or laptop case when traveling. Ray's "system" is explained in terms of the 12 building blocks of copy that, together, cover the various types of projects today's entrepreneurs and marketers are likely to need. are likely to In today's busy world. Each chapter begins with an explanation of the type of project, i.e., Chapter 2's "Magic Building B locks of the Perfect Sales Letter" or a particular technique, like Chapter 5's "How to Write Bullet Points that Virtually Force Your Prospects to Buy.")

After a brief description of the relevance of the material in each chapter, Ray breaks up the remainder of the chapter into specific, actionable ways to put the information to work. To maintain the flow of information, Ray helpfully sets apart definitions and terms that some readers might not be familiar with, allowing other readers to proceed directly to the action tips.

The tips and techniques--the meat and potatoes of the book--are set apart by numbered subheads. Careful writing and editing has condensed most tips to between a half and a full page...long enough to show readers how to use and profit from the advice, but no longer than necessary.

Best of all, each chapter ends with Quick Summary of the ideas shared in the chapter. More important, How to Write Copy that Sells's content extends beyond the book; each chapter contains links to bonus content templates and tutorials on Ray's site (no credit card required).

Two more reasons I like this book--one, it's available in paper for $17.95, which is very reasonable to access a master copywriter's best ideas. Two, as explained on the back cover, the book is intended to be read in 185 minutes--which shows respect for the reader's time. And, three, in an age of often crudely-templated books, the publisher's (Morgan James) production quality projects a quality image, in terms of a heavy matte finish cover, easy-on-the-eyes paper quality, and easy-to-read typography. Whether you're new to copywriting, or you're an experienced copywriter looking for quick access to ideas when you need them, this is the one to get!.

Love is the answer to marketing and selling your product or service

If there is one thing that I have learned, is that a pen has innate value, but it's greatest value is being put to good (versus bad) use. Ray Edwards uses his pen providing great value in his newest book to give everyone considering starting up their own business a front row seat in how to write good copy for their first product or service. His principles echo what I have written in my second book, "HWJDB How Would Jesus Do Business?," and that is "never use these techniques to manipulate or control people to act against their own best interest." It is this that is the basis for all good business, "love your neighbor AS yourself," but not FOR yourself (I win, you lose) nor INSTEAD OF yourself (I lose, you win). Love is a win/win situation, and Ray Edwards follows this throughout his book. Just like all solutions, Ray has given you the tools and the plan, now do the work to make it happen.

Finally! Finally! Widows/Orphans explained accurately.

Years I have spent, researching, going back to my college education, and none of my instructors could get this right. As a typography instructor I searched for the correct definition of widows, orphans, and line runts, and finally found this with "Elements of Typographic Style," by Robert Bringhurst. Bringhurst's book is known as the typographic bible, however this information is so misrepresented in many typography books by typography authorities. Nigel's book finally explains it correctly. It is very clear. I have been Crusader Rabbit about this information, and I fully support—and very much appreciate—Nigel being on the mark. Thank you so very much. I will recommend (and I do) your material to my students.

…freaked out slightly, that I missed the other two additions. Hmmm. I ditched books for awhile and wrote my own material.

I might also add, this book is very relevant material for anyone wanting to have intelligent, attractive, and usable/readable layouts using InDesign. As a content-focused designer, I can honestly say there is nothing in this book that isn't crucial to know as a professional. A lot of what I know about publication design I have learned from Nigel (lynda.com) and I fully support the information here.

I have to say this, also: When I grade and give feedback, I spend untold hours explaining and referring students to resources. I think, about 90% of what I need to refer my student to, are in this book. It would make a lot of sense to make this a required textbook for a typography class, and graphic design in general.

I will need to revisit this review when I get more into the content. Love this book! I could sit and read it like a novel. Thanks, Nigel.

Better than the book I bought last year

Better than the book I bought last year, this Indesign book explains clearly the rules of typography for whom wants to work with Indesign. However, you'll need to have a little bit of Indesign knowledge. At least you should know what a tools panel is, a layer, how to import a picture, a text, the masterpages, etc. etc. I really like the way the book is made, each chapter corresponding to a step up in the software learning.Sincerely it takes a litlle bit of time to read and apply the rules compared to a tutorial online, but it's worth it.

Way more than just another InDesign book

I give this book five stars because:

1. Specific Focus

As a writer, editor, and reader of many graphic arts technology books I have to admit I'm weary of most of the monolithic, 1,000+ page volumes that try to cover everything under the sun. These books are important to the industry as they serve as important reference resources, but most folks don't sit down and actually read those books. On the other hand, lots of designers can spend a few afternoons reading a small and focused book like this.

2. Not Just About Software

This book is definitely about setting type with InDesign, but it's much more than a software book. I'd say this book is mostly about typography and the remainder is how to achieve that with software. It's a lot of why with a bit of how instead of a lot of how with a bit of why.

3. History and Craft

It's helpful for a designer to be historically versed in their craft, especially when it comes to typography. It's not a history book, but Nigel does a good job of explaining the context, purpose, techniques of good type. Good type is a true craft that is simultaneously readable, beautiful, and invisible.
