Tangled Web AR Torre Weaves!!!

The masterful storyteller strikes again. If You Dare is the 3rd book in the Deanna Madden series. This series is suspense and intrigue and darkness at its finest.

I can’t tell you how many times I have wanted to transport myself into Deanna’s apartment and just hug her and love her and tell her that she can “have normal”. I believe that Deanna Madden is a psychotherapist’s dream. There are so many facets to Deanna……….her personality and her actions could be dissected for days, weeks, and definitely months. She is beyond strong but she is so very isolated in her own darkness that even when the light, aka Jeremy Pacer, tries to enter, she only allows the light to peek in so it never fully takes over the darkness. Deanna’ psychiatrist, Derek, has tried to help but can one really help when your sessions are done over the phone? And then there is Mike, Deanna’s techie that keeps her safe and isolated. Jeremy, Derek, and Mike are all champions of Deanna in one form or another but they all have some sort of disconnect as well. It’s such a tangled web the author weaves………its utter perfection!! I can’t forget to mention Simon…..he serves a purpose but he’s not a champion.

We know that Deanna goes to jail but why is the question. I won’t tell you anything more because to do so would be to spoil the journey. The journey is one that keeps you breathless at times, makes you sad at times, has you rooting at times and mostly it is one that makes you feel all of the time. A.R. Torre knows how to weave a brilliant story and add just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you captivated.

I will say that the ending took awhile to sink in for me. As I discussed with others, talked about what had happened, I decided that the ending was in fact perfect (for me). As whenever I open a book by this amazing author, I go into a book hangover where her books just affect my psyche for a few days. Her writing is visual and detailed and completely mesmerizing.

If you have read the first 2 books, get ready for a wickedly dastardly ride and if you haven’t read the first 2 in the series- GO GO GO and one click The Girl in 6E and Do Not Disturb. I promise that this series does not and will not disappoint.

What an amazing read!!!

absolutely loved this book......this series! Not all books make you cringe, yell at your kindle, cry, make you send messages to authors begging for answers before you finish reading because you are just that vested in the characters. This series has and continued to do so.

This is the 3rd installment in this series and must be read in order in order to get the full affect of the story and understanding of the storyline.

Deanna....I love her. Not because she's a super friendly, loveable, fun kind of girl but because she's not. She is hard, complicated, and dangerous. The only time we see the softer side of Deanna is when she is interacting with Jeremy and Mike and even then she keeps you on edge.

Jeremy....I have loved him since he showed up on Deanna's door. He seemed to be the only person she was willing to let in. I love the calming effect he has on her despite the fact that he knows that she is not the typical girlfriend. He loves her in spite of her crazy.

Did the story go exactly how I would have liked.....no. Was I glued to my kindle waiting to see what was coming next...yes. Do I hope that Alessandra will revisit these characters one day again....absolutely!

If you are new to this series, get ready for the ride of your life. If you have already boarded the crazy train of Deanna Madden then hold on to your seat cause it's a bumpy ride! Grab your copy of If You Dare....I dare you!

Deanna Madden...A name you will NEVER forget. If You Dare is the third book in the Deanna Madden Series, the first being The Girl in 6E and the 2nd being Do Not Disturb. When I read Do Not Disturb it quickly became my favorite out of the series, however, If You Dare has now taken that spot. There is so much emotion in If You Dare. Throughout the book we get a look at the "true" Deanna....her strengths, her fears, her heartbreak.

"It is how I was made; it is how I will be until the day I that I die."

Deanna struggles with so much, yet as always Deanna prevails. She is a fighter who never gives up. Deanna knows what she must do to survive and she puts her plan into action. She is one of the toughest book heroines I have ever had the pleasure of reading about.

Alessandra Torre NEVER disappoints! Each book has its own different twist....#TORRESTYLE. As usual I was on the edge of my seat reading. I didn't want to put it down until I was completely finished, but then I didn't want it to end. I read the ending several times- each time begging for more.

I don't want to give anything away about this book- so you MUST read it! While it can be read as a standalone it is recommended to read them in order:

Swain Scheps is Manager of Business Analysis at Brierley + Partners, Inc. and a technology veteran making his first foray into the world of book authoring. In the late 1990’s Swain, along with most people reading this book, had his dot-com boom-to-bust experience with a company called. . .well, that’s not really important now is it. (Anyone interested in buying some slightly underwater stock options should contact the publisher immediately.) After that there were consulting stints at Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, and Best Crossmark developing sales support applications and reporting tools. As of this writing, Swain basks under the fluorescent lights of Brierley, a technology company whose specialty is building customer relationship and loyalty management systems for retailers. The author has had the opportunity to learn from the very best as Brierley also provides unparalleled business intelligence and analytics services for its clients.
Swain lives in Dallas, Texas with wife Nancy and a mere four dogs. He writes about more than just technology; his work has appeared in Fodor’s travel guide books, military history magazines, and even another For Dummies book.

This is the worst book I've ever read

This is the worst book I've ever read. It's super verbose with "comedy," conversation, and dated information. It takes so long to get through a single section. At the same time, it's so skim on facts I feel like I learned nothing after a chapter. It's like a college book report intentionally made long.

Good, but not the best

There's some good information here, but it's buried in a lot of discursive material that detracts from the book. The best of the "for dummies" books are concentrated packages of easy to understand information. This is diffuse and it feels like the author was writing to a word count. Still, there's useful information here.

Great book for all business analysts

Even if you are not working directly on a Business Intelligence project, this book is a must-read for all business analysts. The book is readable and correctly emphasizes the importance of quality requirements and analysis. Business analysts should always be thinking about better ways for their stakeholders to make decisions and run their organizations. Swain gives great insights and suggestions for requirements elicitation and analysis. He also explains the overall discipline at a level everyone should be aware of.
